Orbit for fabricators

A bar is not a metre, and a sheet is not a square metre. Orbit knows the difference.

Take off the quantities, reserve what you have, buy only what is missing, nest the cuts, and track the panel by its own code from the shop to the wall.

Who

Curtain wall, windows and doors, structural glazing and aluminium fabricators. The trade Orbit was hardened on.

The problem today

Profiles are bought by the bar and used by the metre, glass is counted in sheets and sold in square metres, and the metal price moves every month.

The screens only this trade gets

The tools of your trade, not a generic form.

On top of the accounting, sales, stock and people every business gets, this is what Orbit adds for your work.

Material take-off

Take off profiles, glass and hardware from the design and Orbit keeps the bar, the metre and the square metre straight, so the quantity you buy matches the quantity you use.

Cut list, reserve and buy

Reserve what is already in stock, buy only the shortfall, and nest the cuts to waste as little bar as possible.

Recost from the metal price

Change one number, the rate per kilo, and every profile cost recalculates from its weight. No re-pricing a hundred lines by hand.

Panel tracking to the wall

Every panel carries its own code from the shop to the site, so you can scan it and see exactly where it is.

This is one part of a system that runs the whole business.

The trade screens above sit on the same core every Orbit company gets, so the work and the books are never two systems.

Answers

Questions people in your trade ask.

How do I cost an aluminium profile when the metal price changes?
Cost it from its weight, not from a fixed line price. Orbit holds the weight per metre for each profile and multiplies by the current rate per kilo, so when the metal price moves you change one number and every profile cost updates with it.
Is there cut list and offcut optimisation software for aluminium?
Yes. Orbit builds the cut list from the take-off, reserves the lengths you already hold, lists only the shortfall to buy, and nests the cuts to leave as little offcut as possible. The remnants stay in stock for the next job.
How do I price an aluminium window or curtain wall?
Take off the profiles, glass and hardware, let Orbit cost the metal from its weight and the current rate, add the glass by the square metre and the labour, and you have a priced quotation that ties back to what you will actually buy and make.

Change one number, the rate per kilo, and watch a hundred profile costs recalculate. Then scan a panel code and show where it is.
