Moving to Orbit
Move to Orbit without losing a thing.
Your chart of accounts, your suppliers, your catalogue, your open balances. They come across. Here is exactly what moves, what you provide, and what the first week looks like.
What comes across
The things you spent years building, kept.
Structured data moves cleanly. You do not start from a blank system, you start from your own.
Your chart of accounts
Bring your own account structure, or adopt a clean one. Either way the ledger opens the way you already read it.
Customers & suppliers
Every contact with its balances, terms and history, so statements and ageing are right from day one.
Items & catalogue
Products, prices, units and codes, ready to sell, buy and count without retyping the list.
Opening balances
Trial balance, receivables and payables, and stock on hand, loaded and reconciled before you go live.
Open orders & opportunities
The work in flight comes with you. One customer brought two hundred live opportunities across.
Documents
Attach the files that matter against the records they belong to, so the paper trail continues rather than resets.
Who does what
We do the moving. You approve the result.
Space Work brings
The mapping from your old system to Orbit, the import itself, and the reconciliation back to your old trial balance to the cent. You do not touch a spreadsheet.
You provide
An export from your old system (we help you pull it if it is awkward), a cutover date, and one person to sign off that the opening numbers are right.
The first week
From your old system to live, in days.
1 · Set up the company
Your company, chart of accounts, currencies and team, on sensible defaults you can adjust.
2 · Import your data
Contacts, items, open orders and opening balances, loaded from your old export.
3 · Reconcile to the cent
Orbit is tied back to your old trial balance so day one opens on numbers you already trust.
4 · Go live
Start trading in Orbit. The old system is kept read-only for reference, and nothing is thrown away.
The honest part
Not everything comes across clean, and we would rather say so now. Structured data (accounts, contacts, items, balances, open orders) moves reliably. Loose things, years of PDF attachments in a shared drive, a spreadsheet held together by macros, a report someone built by hand, may need to be re-attached or rebuilt. We flag those before you commit, not after.
